The Cakes . . .

were either rich fruit, or chocolate, and were baked by my wife. I hand-carved them, and covered them with coloured marzipan (the family’s favourite!). I used sugarpaste only when necessary (not such a favourite with the family!) – eg. when I needed something white. Tylo powder was added when decorations needed to be self-supporting. All the cakes were 100% edible, nothing inedible was ever used.

Unfortunately, the early photographs are poor quality, but the quality of both the pictures and the cakes improved over the years!
